Ukraine plans to increase trade in agricultural products with Tajikistan
Ukraine is interested in strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations and increasing export supplies of agricultural products to the Tajik market.
This was discussed during the meeting of the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Igor Petrashko with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Ukraine Haydar Davlatali Nazrizoda, the press service of the Ministry of Economy writes.
“Ukraine views Tajikistan as an important partner in the Central Asian region. We are interested in increasing bilateral trade turnover between our countries, implementing joint projects in various industries, updating the bilateral intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of standardization, metrology and certification and strengthening work within the framework of the intergovernmental commission,” commented Igor Petrashko.
It is noted that today Ukraine has significant potential to increase the volume of bilateral trade in agricultural products with the Republic of Tajikistan. In particular, Ukrainian products of the processing, confectionery and fat-and-oil industries have high competitive advantages. In addition, Ukraine is ready for an in-depth dialogue on expanding the range of supplies of Ukrainian food products to the Tajik market.
According to the report, Igor Petrashko stressed the importance of maintaining contacts, namely the joint organization of business forums, round tables, seminars, trade missions, exhibitions, fairs and the like. It is also important to deepen cooperation between the regions of the two countries, which can be especially promising in the context of the dynamic development of technology parks in Ukraine and free economic zones in Tajikistan.
